Christmas 2015

Dear families in Australia!!
Then it is time again for a little summary of the year. Although a year is quite short, it's filled with many adventures. We are grateful for mostly good health and that we can be involved both at the private level, in the church, at work and mission.

The biggest event this year for us, is that on the 21 of  February, Hosna and Ariel got their son Darius Ariel. Two little sisters thought it was exciting with a brother in the family.
In November, the whole family was gathered in Larvik for Children-blessing in the church of Betania, and a proud grandfather  had the honor to bring Darius before the assembly.
Grandparents are very occupied with their grandkids, and their lives, and so it is with us. The oldest, Alexander, is now 19 years, and have finished the high school. He is working, and from January he will enter the King's Guard and take care of the king.
He has a great girlfriend, Maria, who lives in Island, so there is some tours there ....

Christian is in second grade in the high school. Patrick runs in 7th grade, and Celine and Taina runs in the 5th grade. Gabriel goes in 3rd grade. In Sandvika (Oslo) lives Ariel and Hosna, with their children Leila, Ava and Darius. Leila goes in first class, while Ava is in the kindergarten, and Darius is at home with his mother.

In March we traveled again to South America. Was first a few days in Paraguay, for review of the school-project amongs the indians there (see www.pymisjon.com).

Then we went to Santa Cruz in Bolivia for review of another school-project there. Together with us was Eva from the mission office in Oslo (PYM), see HERE. Afterwards we went to Riberalta in the Northern Bolivia. We have long wanted to go there, since it was in that area Norwegian missionary-work began in Bolivia. We had a Norwegian contact there, Ada Bjørfjell. It was interesting to visit this little jungle town by the Beni river (part of the Amazonas). It is a world quite different from ours. You can see some pictures HERE.
So we went back to Paraguay. We visit our friends in
the
Indian colonies in easth Paraguay. It is very pleasant to come back to the places where we have worked. You can read more HERE and HERE.

In July we went to northern Norway. Elisabeth and Celine came by plane to Bodø, and together we went to Hustad in Gildeskål (the foto) to visit our family there. We visted Kjærringøy too...a very nice place.

Then came Rosi, Ruben and their children up, and together we went first to Tranøy, Hamarøy, where we met some of the family.
Then we went to Narvik and Tromsø and visited familes there.
Visiting the arctic garden at the University of Tromsø (see HERE!) is incredibly nice. Here's one of those strange plants there:

Elisabeth and Celine flew home, while the rest of us drow south to Lofoten. We had a very good weather on the trip through Lofoten to Moskenes and Værøy, (Rudolf had his childhood there) so it was a real nature experience. The mountains and the sea are mighty... and then our great friends there!!
Ruben and his family went back for home, while we went to Tranøy, Hamarøy (Brit-Lajla ha her childhood there). There was a meeting for
the
cousins of Brit-Lajla, with their spouses. Memories were shared, and the laughter was loose! It was great to be able to gather in this way!!

In September we had a great visit from Australia: Elsa! It was very pleasant stay with her in the home of Janny!!
This fall we have mostly been at home, except from a couple of trips to Sørlandet for a missionary conferences.
Throughout the year, Rudolf worked a bit at the anesthesia department at Larvik hospital. It is pleasant to keep in touch, both with anesthesia-discipline and
collegas
!
This Christmas Elisabeth, David and the kids take a Mediterranean cruise. We others are together here in Larvik and celebrate a traditional Christmas.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !!

«Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord». Luke 2, 11
